WASHINGTON, PA, March 20, 2013 - Kandian Klub shrugged off a serious backside challenge Wednesday at The Meadows and drew away to a comfortable victory - her second in the series - in the Mary Wohlmuth Memorial Trot. Promisemethis captured the other $12,500 third-leg split in the series for 3- and 4-year-old fillies and mares. The $20,000-added final is set for Wednesday, March 27.

Kandian Klub was cruising on the lead when Quiet Snow charged up and looked her in the eye. The 4-year-old daughter of Pegasus Spur-KT Dee Dee responded to trainer/driver Dean Collins and opened back up, scoring in 1:58.2. Southwind Diva was second, 3 lengths back, with Glidetowin third. Shaffer Standardbreds and D&G Racing Stable own Kandian Klub.

Promisemethis made a tentative move after the leader at the five-eighths before Dan Rawlings guided her back to the pylons. It proved a wise decision, as the 3-year-old Chip Chip Hooray-Promisemespring filly had enough pop left in the stretch to overtake the 3-5 favorite, Mistress Valentine, and down her by 1/2 length in 1:58 for her second straight Wohlmuth win. Winning Double rallied for show. Rick and Regina Beinhauer bred and own Promisemethis, who has won six of her eight career starts.

In the $18,000 Preferred Handicap Pace, Moveoutofmyway was widest and fastest in the lane as he extended his winning streak to three for Dave Palone, trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Frank Baldachino. The 4-year-old Dontgetinmyway-Peachy Yankee gelding prevailed in 1:52, x better than Schoolkids, with Object Of Art third.

Dave Palone and Mike Wilder drove three winners on the 12-race card.
