Combining country, rock, blues and jazz, The Marshall Tucker Band became platinum-selling recording artists and helped pioneer the Southern rock genre in the early 1970s. Featuring extended instrumental passages, many of their songs showcased the guitar work of Toy Caldwell and established them as more than a run-of-the-mill, country-infused rock band. Gaining recognition through a tour with the Allman Brothers, the band found significant success during the ‘70s with most of their albums going gold. Their peak came with the million-selling Carolina Dreams album released in 1977. Look for The Marshall Tucker Band to deliver their hits, including “Heard It in a Love Song,” “Can’t You See,” “Fire on the Mountain” and “Take the Highway.”
