DO ME HONOR GETS LIGHTNING LANE WIN AT THE MEADOWS
WASHINGTON, PA, April 1, 2013 - Do Me Honor stalked Tremor Hanover for most of the mile, then blew by her in the Lightning Lane to capture Monday's $18,000 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
While Tremor Hanover was dealing with the first-over bid of So Easy Baby, Do Me Honor and Aaron Merriman waited patiently in the pocket behind the dueling leaders. Do Me Honor charged home in 28.3 to score in 1:52.4, a nose better than the game Tremor Hanover. So Easy Baby persevered for show.
The 5-year-old daughter of Cheyenne Rei-Do Me Right won for the sixth time this year for owner/trainer Bill Bercury and sent her career bankroll soaring over $300,000.
Dave Palone and Mike Wilder each drove three winners on the 15-race card.
