RUN AND TELL PAP WORKS HARD FOR 3RD STRAIGHT AT THE MEADOWS
WASHINGTON, PA, Feb. 12, 2013 - Run And Tell Pap secured an easy lead but had to work hard late to preserve it as he captured Tuesday's $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot - his third straight victory - at The Meadows.
Although Run And Tell Pap was pushed to an opening panel of 27.4, he enjoyed a 59 breather over the next two panels. Nevertheless, the 3-5 favorite needed Dave Palone's urging to stave off the Lightning Lane charge of TSM Photo Bugger and down that rival by a head in 1:55. Sharp Edge shot the pylons for show.
Ron Burke trains Run And Tell Pap, a 6-year-old High Falls-Adele's Jade gelding who now boasts $330,561 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and M1 Stable.
Eric Ledford drove four winners on the 15-race card while Aaron Merriman, Mike Wilder and Palone each enjoyed a triple.
