FRED AND GINGER OVERCOMES POST 9 TO WIN MEADOWS FEATURE
WASHINGTON, PA, Nov. 27, 2012 - Stuck with post 9, Fred And Ginger overcame it by getting away fourth, then launching a determined uncovered bid that carried him to victory in Tuesday's $20,000 Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
When Brett Miller moved Fred And Ginger down the backside, the 5-year-old son of Real Artist-Graceful Motion engaged his stablemate, Itrustyou, on the front. The pair drew off from the field, with Fred And Ginger 1/2 length ahead at the wire in 1:51.4. J J Gladiator finished third.
Ron Burke trains Fred And Ginger, who extended his career bankroll to $835,865, for Howard Taylor, Robert Feldman, Edwin Gold and Jerry Silva.
It was one of five victories on the 15-race card for Burke. Dave Palone drove four winners while Eric Ledford and Brett Miller each fashioned a triple. Miller's haul raised his career victory total to 5,996.
